Nutritional Supplements To Take Before Muscle & Cardio Exercise

1. Protein Shakes, especially Whey Protein

Protein Shakes, taken in the form of Whey, Milk, Casein, Egg, Egg Whites, Soy Protein or a combination, which provide the body important amino acids. Most popular to take is about 5 to 10 grams of whey protein, which is assimilated into the body the fastest.

2. Arginine

L-Arginine - Arginine is an essential amino acid that gives the body and nice blood pump from enhancing blood flow and promotes growth hormone release. Besides giving an excellent workout pump, arginine also improves immune health, especially if there are people with colds at the gym.

3. Caffeine

Caffeine can be taken in the form of Anhydrous Caffeine, Guarana, Kola Nut, Coffee, or Tea. Caffeine has been proven many times to enhance stored body fat for fuel and energy by promoting the body to prefer the stored fat cells as opposed to blood glycogen and stored muscle glycogen for energy. This has only been proven before physical activity, such as muscle training or cardio conditioning workouts. Caffeine also been shown to decrease fatigue and increase the frequency, intensity, and duration of both muscular workouts and aerobic training.

4. BCAAs

There are 9 essential amino acids: histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and valine. The body can make non-essential amino acids on its own, which include alanine, arginine, aspartic acid, cysteine, cystine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, hydroxyproline, proline, serine, & tyrosine. Branched Chain Amino Acids or BCAA - BCAAs are composed of 3 essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine, which prevent muscle breakdown and decreases muscle fatigue.

5. Creatine

Creatine increases muscular power, muscle strength and recovery.

6. Glycine

Glycine assists with creatine production, increasing human growth hormone, and nerve firing.
