Post-Workout Supplements

Postworkout exercise and fitness nutrition diet supplements to take after an exercise workout for weight training, strength training, nutrition diet plan, body sculpting, losing weight, total body toning, weight loss programs, muscle toning, body shaping, weight loss diet, stretching flexibility, and most any, health and fitness exercise workout routine.

Supplements To Take After Muscle & Cardio Exercise

1. Simple Glucose i.e. sugar, honey, fruits such a banana, brown rice syrup, Vitargo

Immediately after a workout, glucose or simple sugar, about 40 to 80 grams carbohydrates, should be immediately consume to replenish muscle glycogen and blood glycogen stores for quicker muscle recovery. Even a small amount of sugar, about 10 grams carbs, and amino acids, about 5 grams aminos, can even be consumed during the workout. One of my favorites is a banana with brown rice syrup, which has a lower glycemic index.

2. Whey Protein Shake

Protein or amino acids are the building blocks of our bodies. Protein taken in the form of whey protein, which is quickly assimilated into our bodies, helps replenish our bodies protein requirements, which the body needs right after physical activity and hastens muscle recovery and speed.. Consume between 20 to 40 grams whey protein immediately following a workout.

3. L-Glutamine

Glutamine stores in the body are used up and taking this supplement quickly replenshes our bodies supply, which helps prevent muscle breakdown.

4. BCAAs

Branched Chain Amino Acids - BCAA or BCAAs, the three essential amino acids leucine, isoleucine, and valine, prevent muscle breakdown.

5. Creatine

Creatine increases muscular strength, muscle power, and recovery after a workout.

Others are Leucine, especially if you don't supplement with BCAAs, and ALA.

Note: if you chose to supplement with BCAAs and/ or L glutamine, I recommend taking the amino acids 10 to 15 minutes away from the whey protein. Plus if you are interested in losing weight or are on weight loss programs, don't take any foods post-workout for 30 minutes.
