In another study related to Musculoskeletal Disorders, for four months about sixty patients to 1.2 grams SAMe daily, 200 mg Celebrex daily (which is the prescription drug Celecoxib), or they took a placebo. The results were that the patients who took the SAMe decreased their pain as effectively as the prescription drug Celebrex.
Glucosamine, MSM
Scientists in the Journal of Clinical Drug Investigation took about 120 patients with moderate arthritis to study the effect of MSM and Glucosamine. The patients took 1.5 grams MSM, 1.5 grams Glucosamine per day, divided by three dosages of each supplement, combined MSM and Glucosamine, or took a placebo. They measured the patinients pain every week or so and found the patients who took either the MSM, Glucosamine, or a combination of the two had significantly less joint pain than the patients taking the placebo. Those patients also gained much more mobility.
MSM
In another study related to MSM, 50 patients with knee problems took 3000 mg MSM two times a day and others took a placebo. After 4 months, the patients who ingested the MSM had much less knee pain and also enhanced their mobility in their daily routines.
Glucosamine, Chondroitin
The Archives of Internal Medicine accounted in the last 30 years, most studies with respect to Glucosamine and Chondroitin, resulted in the much less joint pain and inflammation, increased mobility making daily tasks much simpler and easier, with more range of motion. The Archives of Internal Medicine accounted less joint space with Glucosamine, which may mean Glucosamine may protect joint cartilage which helps cushion joints.
