Hi Thanks for the diet exercise plan. I just have a few questions:

1. Is it ok to have skim milk with the protein shake in the morning?
2. Should I do this whole body workout three times a week to start?
3. If I limit wine to 1-2 glasses a week, do you think this would impede my goals?

Food intake for January 2, 2008
0600: Whey protein powder mix and 1 cup skim milk
0930: 5 walnuts, 1 tbsp. dried cranberries
1130: small salad (cucumber, tomatoes, olives, raisons), 1 sm, yam, 1 sm chicken breast
2 pm: 1 large apple
6pm: 1 med chicken breast, 1 med yam, 1 cup of broccoli, 1 coke Zero
930pm: 1.5 cup grapes

Water Intake: 3 liters

Excellent Start! Couple things, 1. how much protein in protein shake before milk, and yes milk is fine, 2. Even thought you may not be as hungry, try to eat a medium size salad, the amount that can fit on two plates, not including extras or a medium size Tupperware bowl. You can have  up to 2 medium size yams at lunch or a yam and a slice of quality bread i.e. whole wheat, rye, sourdough, etc.

Keep in mind your calories need to be enough so your body doesn’t shut down fat metabolism and have enough energy for a higher metabolic rate and physical activity.

I’m impressed. You keep this attitude up with just a little more balance, you’ll lose body fat before you know it, especially if you eat for long term.

Do the exercises 3 times a week to start. If you can handle more, that would be good, but be very careful of overtraining. Many people over train in the beginning and burn out, thinking all or nothing. It’s really about balance and making exercise and eating effectively a part of your life. The most happy people in the world eat effectively and exercise.

Don’t be overly concerned about wine. Just don’t eat fat, eat more vegetables for cleansing out stuff we are before, purification, getting full, healing, etc the list goes on. And more importantly, eat in balance, with a little more towards cellulose vegetables, since you will lose body fat. Think high carbs – quality carbs – cellulose vegetables, starch vegetables, low protein, low fat. Too many people today are eating way too much protein, our bodies in general can only digest 20 grams of protein per meal, except after intense exercise, with the rest of the protein being stored as fat. In other words, any extra protein is just fat.
