Should I Get A Personal Trainer Certification? Hello Personal Trainer Los Angeles, I went to college for graphic design as a graphic designer and for the last two years, I have been more and more interested health, weight loss, fitness, and diet nutrition. I read everything I can on new exercise fitness workout routines and nutritional info and am an avid gym go-getter. I recently decided I wanted to get certified so the in the future if I decide I want to pursue something other than my job as a career (or just earn some extra income). Fitness training would be an alternative to an additional income. I contacted ACE Personal Training and ordered the ACE Personal Trainer home study kit that includes the ACE Personal Trainer manual, a 60 question sample exam, manual study guide, and a written sample exam. Do you think ACE Personal Trainer is a good start? Do gyms look at schooling or Personal Trainer Certification? What kind of Personal Trainer Certification do you need to get a job?
Should I get the CSCS certification / Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist? I am interested in becoming a Certified Personal Trainer. I am considering going back to college for exercise physiology. I have been involved with athletics, weight training, triathlons, martial arts for most of my 40 year old life. I like the fitness industry, I worked in a few gyms in my younger days, including Living Well Fitness Centers. My question is, do you have to have a degree to be a Certified Personal Trainer? I checked out various Personal Trainer Certifications, the best one seems to be Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Should I get the Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist / CSCS certification and is there a major difference between CSCS and other Personal Trainer Certifications?
